Delay to Address Quality, Aesthetics, & Playability

Over the last month, I have been working to finalize the Rapture Roleplay System's Big Red Ugly Edition. Along the way, I have noticed some issues that I want to address before releasing the game. These are explored below:

  • Bloat: I feel like when I started working on the Big Red Ugly Edition, bloat wasn't a problem. Things were streamlined, and the easy lift for referees, new and seasoned, was there. Now, I feel I need to go back and trim things up.
  • Look & Feel: The look and feel of the product feels off still, and I want to make sure the look and feel are worth ya'll's time (and money). So, I am going to spend a bit more time tightening things up, securing more assets, and nailing the look and feel for Rapture.
  • Replayability, One-Shots, etc.: I've been following along and exploring the issues of replayability, offering more opportunities for one-shots, and, overall, finding ways to make the game itself more of a tool for long-term or even short-term play. This means I need to comb through what I have and see where I can tweak things, make the lift easier, and make the game more sustainable for different lengths of play.

Our new release date is being slotted for Friday, December 15, 23:59 Mountain Time for those who aren't backers from Kickstarter. Those who are will see the game on Thursday, December 14, at 23:59 Mountain Time
